ACADEMY DETURK is an after school, evening and
weekend performing arts academy during the school year and a performing arts
day camp during the summer that focuses on giving students confidence, poise
and professional theatrical skills. Classes include acting, singing, movement
and improvisation. Advanced students have the opportunity to create and perform
original works as well as perform outside the class in the greater-Marin
community and the San Francisco Bay Area.
Our faculty and staff consists of established performing arts professionals who
are also available for individual coaching and audition preparation.
Classes are held in downtown Larkspur
at the American Legion Post 313, 500 Magnolia Avenue, formerly the Larkspur
Cafe Theater. Other facilities sometimes used are: The Marin Art
& Garden Center, the Barn Theater, Ross School, Marin Ballroom Dance
Theater and our home studio in San Rafael.
